Description of the Hunting Ground

The hunting ground “Øst-Fjergen North” is an exceptional wilderness area, which is characteristic of this area of Meråker and Trondelag. The hunting ground lies northeast in the Meråker Municipality, on the border to Sweden.

The hunting ground has a good varied biotope where birds thrive. From thin forest in the lower lying regions to thinning birch forests, to small birch and willows, to the completely open high elevation, you will find a good variety of exceptional terrain here. The forest areas are protected as a nature reserve. This is perfect hunting terrain for ptarmigan! And after a good fall last year all things point to a promising season in 2019. In the lower lying areas you will also find black grouse and capercaillie, as well as mountain grouse in the higher elevations.

Cabin included

The Cabin was built only a few years ago and consists of 3 bedrooms and an annex with 2 bedrooms. In addition you will find an outhouse with a dog kennel. There is a solar panel and propane for the refrigerator and oven. In addition you have access to a generator for charging of pylons, radios, etc. There is a propane heater that also supplies warm water for showering. In the annex you will find a wood-fired sauna. All of the beds have comforters and pillows, so the only thing you will need to bring are bed sheets. The cabin has an outhouse.

The cabin lies beautifully situated in the hunting grounds with a nice view over the eastern end of Lake Fjergen. From the lake to the cabin is a roughly 300 meter trail. Getting to the cabin requires a roughly 6 km boat ride. The renter will have access to our 18 foot aluminum boat with a 60 hp motor.

In Meråker there is an agreement with Meraker Brug as the landowner and the Meråker Municipality that as a resident you may be allowed to hunt without dogs throughout the entire season in an area of roughly 185300 acres. Therefore, there may at any time be a few other hunters in the area.
